Terms - Field Guides
Effective date: 07/01/2026
These terms govern your purchase and use of the Field Guides published by Linda Haitani, LLC. By buying or accessing a guide, you agree to them.
The product
Each Field Guide is a digital publication delivered through a password-gated online reader. A purchase covers the current edition and the quarterly editions released during your access period, delivered to the email address you provide. Editions are updated on a quarterly cycle; new editions are opt-in where stated on the sales page.
Your license
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable, single-reader license to access and use the guide for your own professional purposes. You may quote brief passages with attribution. You may not:
share your access code with, or forward the guide to, anyone who has not purchased it;
reproduce, republish, resell, or post the guide (in whole or in substantial part) publicly or within your organization beyond your own use; or
use the guide's content to train, or input its full text into, an AI system for reproduction or redistribution.
Ownership and all intellectual-property rights in the guides remain with Linda Haitani, LLC. School or group licenses for multiple readers are available — contact [linda@haitani.org].
We may suspend or revoke access, without refund, for access-code sharing or other material breach of these terms.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout in U.S. dollars and may change for future editions or purchases. [Add sales-tax handling language once Stripe Tax is configured — digital-goods tax varies by state.]
Not professional advice — important
The Field Guides provide general information and professional perspective for school leaders. They are not legal, financial, tax, employment, insurance, or other professional advice, and no advisory or attorney-client relationship is created by your purchase or use. Laws and regulations vary by state and by school type and change frequently. Before acting on anything in a guide — especially in matters of student safety, mandatory reporting, employment, privacy, admissions, or finance — verify it against current law and with your own qualified advisors. You are responsible for decisions you make; use of the guides is at your own discretion and risk.
Disclaimer of warranties
The guides are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the content is error-free or that access will be uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Linda Haitani, LLC and Linda Haitani will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the guides. Our total liability for any claim relating to a guide will not exceed the amount you paid for it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of CA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Santa Clara County, CA.
Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date shows the current version, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
